Rare Pair of Valentino Wicker Chairs, 1970s

About the Item

Rare pair of Valentino wicker chairs, 1970s Very rare pair of rattan and wicker chairs made in the 70s by Valentino. Valentino created a small collection of wicker pieces in the late 70s/80s. The designs were fabulous and unexpected, as you would expect of the designer. The frame is made of rattan with woven natural wicker. The design has a tall back and style which nods to the East and broad arms which open out. The cushion is a classic white indoor outdoor fabric, not the original cushion fabric. This piece was brought over by a fine and prominent Italian couple who purchased it from Valentino himself and lived in their estate in Southampton for over 40 years. 44.38" wide x 26.5" deep x 44.5" high 26.75" arm height 19" seat height 24" x 24" x 7" thick cushion Condition: One chair back very slightly leans forward, some snaps to the wicker in some spots, cushions with some stains, good overall condition.
