    A beautiful set of six original French Art Deco tall back blonde wood and nickeled bronze dining chairs, attributed to Rene Prou. Tall elegant backs with curvilinear top crest and shield shape lower backrest, featuring elegant sculptural cabriole front legs and tapered splay back legs. An inset nickeled bronze side bar flanks and accents the back rest, granting this chair a very unusual and unique style. These chairs are skillfully designed, well crafted and of solid construction. The cushion seats and backs in desert taupe/ mauve color naugahyde upholstery are in good vintage condition but are original and of the period. He was a furniture and a decorator who studied at the Ecole Bernard-Palissy in Paris. Shortly thereafter, Prou joined the design house, Gouffé and became their chief designer. He was known as the first decorator of the modern taste.
