About the Item
Gorgeous and one of a kind set of four Napoleon III chairs, made in France, circa 1880.
The pair of chairs are made of carved and gilded wood and feature a floral tuft on the back and a double lattice on the seat and back. The stipe legs are spirally scalloped. The headrest is divided into three vertical sections that divide the field of view in two and form a finely carved floral garland.
One of the heads is framed with original Pompadour pink silk, lending further character and authenticity to the piece.
In very good overall condition. They include a newly upholstered seat with a magnificent toile de jouy print fabric from the English brand Marviq.
Very decorative chairs, with great character and elegance.
