Set of 3 Post Modern Carved & Bent Oak Chairs By Shin-Lee, After Michael Thonet
About the Item
As is set of 3 curved oak and cane dining chairs dating back to the 1970s / 1980s. Made in Taiwan by Shin-Lee, they echo the designs of Michael Thonet and Kohn Mundus. Sculptural with clean lines and somewhat organic forms, they are an unusual mash up of Post Modern and Bohemian style. There is not a single right angle on these chairs with rounded arms, seats and backs.
While the chairs show wear, they are overall in good structural condition. Would refinish nicely.
- One small puncture to cane on backrest
- One crack at top of one leg
- While covered with an interesting fitted piece of wood, the cane remains in good condition on two seats; one has loose pieces at edge as pictured
- The finish is worn on both the wood and the cane
- Chrome on wheels is rusting
