About the Item
A set of 4 "T" chairs of tribal inspiration, Modernist, Brutalist, Popular Art, Free-Form, carved brown solid wood structure, to be attributed, Aranjou edition, France 1950-1960.
These are 4 very old chairs, probably very 1st edition, with a slightly different assembly from the usual T chairs: horizontal uprights stiffen the structures (and give... a "seat" or a power, as you choose!) of the chairs. Authentic modernist screws.
Urban legends continue to attribute these chairs to Scandinavian designers by analogy, but they are only found in the French countryside, and never in Northern Europe, despite clear documentation (filmed advertising by Aranjou on INA, French Audiovisual Archives Institute)...
