Stunning set of set of six “Luisa” folding chairs in chromed steel and brown suede. This elegant and unique chairs were designed by Marcello Cuneo and produced by Mobel in Italy during the 1970s.
In fabulous conditions, the seats have been newly reupholstered with brand-new padding and a wonderful light brown suede.
These beautiful chairs feature a sculptural structure in chromed steel with a distinctive curved silhouette that creates a sense of movement. The contrast of textures and tones is incredibly charming and enhance the modern character of the chairs. Their smart folding mechanism allows the chairs to be easily closed and moved, making them not only elegant but also practical.

Marcello Cuneo (1933–2015) was an Italian architect and designer from Turin who worked closely with Gio Ponti in the early years of his career, before establishing his own independent studio. His work is characterized by an elegant balance between form and function, often combining sculptural precision with an essential, architectural aesthetic.
The “Luisa” folding chair is among his most celebrated designs — a sculptural seat defined by its curved chromed steel frame and contoured leather or suede seat, embodying the Italian design philosophy of the 1970s that sought lightness, versatility, and movement in everyday furniture.
The model was produced by Mobel Italia, a manufacturer active between the late 1960s and early 1970s, known for its high-quality modern furnishings in metal and chromed steel, with a focus on innovative folding mechanisms and minimalist lines.
