Set of five Austrian Midcentury Roland Rainer Beech Stacking Chairs

About the Item

This set of stackable beech plywood chairs has been designed by Prof. Roland Rainer in 1951. Roland Rainer used these chairs for the Viennese city hall, Wiener Stadthalle in 1956-1962, so the chair was named after that as the well-known "Stadthallensessel". Now these chairs are one of the most sought after Austrian midcentury design objects. This beautiful version of the model has been produced by Wilkhahn Germany in the 1950s and features a black lacquered beechwood base and bright natural beech plywood seats. Very good vintage condition with signs of use due to their age, ready for use as Dining chairs-
