About the Item

Rare set of 4 chairs specially made by Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek in a very small quantity for a champagne bar in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The original fabric is still in wonderful all original condition. Piet Hein Eek was born in The Netherlands in 1967 and graduated from the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven in 1990. Although he is mainly known for his scrap wood productions, this series fits the thread through his work: the combination of uncommon materials and also uncommon, but simple methods of working. Piet Hein Eek's work is sold in numerous galleries worldwide. He has exhibited at such venues as the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Milan Furniture Fair, Italy; and Cïbone, Tokyo.
