About the Item

The Sibbo armchair, designed by Yngve Ekström for Stolab, is an elegant and enduring example of Swedish furniture design from the 1950s. Crafted from solid oak, it embodies the essence of Scandinavian modernism, where natural materials and honest craftsmanship take center stage. The chair’s gently curved armrests, sculpted details and low seat height of 37 cm create an inviting sense of relaxation and warmth. Designed for informal seating, Sibbo fits beautifully in living rooms, lounges, or reading corners, where comfort meets understated sophistication. Reflecting Ekström’s masterful ability to balance form, function, and proportion, the Sibbo armchair remains an iconic symbol of timeless Nordic design, admired for its simplicity, elegance, and enduring quality. This piece is in very good overall condition, with only minor signs of age. The wood shows a light patina with a few small stains, consistent with gentle use over time. It comes complete with a neck pillow and seat cushion, both in very good condition, showing only slight surface dirt.
