Suite of Six Cabriolet Teak Chairs in Jules Leleu Taste, Period: 20th Century
About the Item
Exceptional suite of six "convertible" chairs in the Jules Leleu style.
The chairs are in very pretty teak wood worked in the heart of the wood, entirely covered with powder beige imitation leather and saddle-style stitching.
The foundations have been completely redone.
The height of the backrest and the width of the seat perfectly studied, allow an incomparable comfort and support, when one takes place around a table.

This family of cabinetmakers, designers and assemblers was at the top French decoration during the years 1920-1948 for Jules Leleu then 1948-1970 for his son André Leleu.
Jules Leleu fitted out numerous embassies, decorated the most beautiful liners of the 1930s.
He carried out orders for the Prince of Monaco, the Emperor of Japan. Liking to work in a team, he surrounds himself with a group of artists and craftsmen.
Lacquerers Dunand, Bobot, Hamenenaka - Glass engravers Max Ingrand and Pansart and the blacksmith Raymond Subes.
He carries out the decoration "from the floor to the ceiling" of the furniture, to the lighting through the carpets and the fabrics.
It is a splendid restoration of the TWS workshops (Calais) in the know-how and the respect of artisanal techniques.
