Unique 18th Century Renaissance Revival Carved Oak Three-Legged Chair with Lion

About the Item

Stunning handcrafted chair, dated 1770 with a lion head sculpture.  This rare Renaissance Revival chair is as stabile as the day it was made and the woodwork is in very good to excellent condition as well. The solid oak frame comes with several quality carved elements and this handcrafted antique has a beautiful patina. The black jute seat with the brass rosettes is the perfect finish to this one of a kind and highly decorative chair. Overlooking your room from the highest point of this chair is the regal looking lion with the hand carved year of 1770 carved on his chest. This Renaissance chair really is a joy to own and look at and it will look great in a library, entrance or as a 'furniture still life' (as we call it) in a bedroom or anywhere else for that matter.
