Sandcastles Lounge Chair with Ottoman
About the Item
That magical feeling of building a sand castle, in the surf with the sun on your back. The euphoria felt after completing the structure is quickly alternated by the tension of the approaching waves of the rising tide, an important life lesson. Ruben van Megen built many sandcastles as a child on the Dutch North Sea coast. Atelier Ruben van Megen wants to relive and share the tension between euphoria and deception, through the collection ‘Sandcastles’.
The Sandcastles are made of indestructible mud! The items can be made to order in any desired color. The offered chair is immediately available in blue.
The chair is decorated with drops of bronze, just like a sandcastle is decorated with shells and twigs.
The Sandcastles series originated in the COVID-19 period, in which the studio was mainly looking for a new, fun and challenging way to work with design and to express itself.

Atelier Ruben van Megen develops collectible design, products and interiors that excel in craftsmanship, aesthetics and use of materials. The award-winning atelier often international presented.
