About the Item
Rare original Austrian Secessionist armchair, designed by the architect and furniture designer, Wilhelm Schmidt, who studied with Joseph Hoffmann at the Wiener Kunstgewerbe.
This rectilinear chair, made of stained oak with rattan seat, sides and back, was part of a series of armchairs designed in 1901-1902 by Schmidt for Prag-Rudniker Korbware Fabrik in Vienna.
The chair is in very good original condition. Some small scratch marks on one of the arms are shown in a detailed photo.
The chair has original age related patina.
Structure of the chair is without any defects.
This chair is in original condition. All parts are original except for a couple of screws on the bottom side of the seat. These screws are later addition.
