About the Item
This is a unique contemporary piece based on the shape of a classic garden furniture set.
Romantic but strong, this chair is made of iron. Made up of three components: the twisted Solomonic plate, a diagonal wavy fabric that covers the backrest and seat, and the flower. These three elements work together to give shape to the object.
This project is the result of an aesthetic investigation into the unique style of modernist artistic forging of the Mediterranean and that of iron as a key material in the design and industrial development of the 19th century in Europe.
While we read a book on the terraces of Paris, we still see this type of folding iron chair, this model of diagonal wavy fabric still covers elevator cabins and urban planters, and on the balconies of Valencia and Barcelona we still see poppies or sunflowers made by hand. hand decorating bars on balconies and windows. The influence of the humble and delicate artistic forging and the power of industrial development together create this form of timeless functional object.
The piece has been photographed in two finishes: blue and metallic green. The iron craftsmanship of José Sebastiá Sanjuan, an artistic forger at the Artesanía Forja Sanjuán house in Valencia, Spain, has been fundamental."

Cristina Omarrementería
Born in 1988, self-taught, Cristina creates from a romantic perspective; her designs are made only from classic materials such as wrought iron, natural stone and glass. Seduced by the elegant decadence of Mediterranean cities, she lives and works in Valencia, Spain, where she finds the talent of the artisans she works with. The constant aesthetic and intellectual research leads her to always add a psychological component to the objects she creates and to mix meaning and matter, tradition and fantasy, drama and pragmatism, to create unique furniture.
