Early 19th Century Regency Faux Rosewood Roman Spoon Chair

About the Item

An fine faux bois rosewood spoon or Roman chair, inset with lacquered and brass center splat ormolu detail with anthemion and griffin pair, a suite of furniture at Chatsworth House also bears the same gilt details. Saber legs are decorated on the front by brass rosettes, and the seat rail decorated by bead coursing. The legs sit on original castors. Caned seat with upholstered cushion in a cream cotton twill, England, circa 1820.
