About the Item

Pair of club chairs, walnut, metal, fabric, Italy, 1970s The construction of these wonderful barrel chairs shows strong resemblance to the features of the Art Deco design language. The corpus is executed in walnut exhibiting a beautiful round shape. A specific decorative treatment is visible in the upholstery: a graphic repetition of various patches in different matte colors and geometrical stripes, which makes the design visually interesting. Although the wooden construction is typical for the Art Deco Movement, the upholstery truly exudes the optimistic vibe and colorfulness of the seventies. The striking lines of the chair are emphasized by the decorative nails applied to the outer border of the fabric. The base is executed in metal creating a floating appearance, which results in a more open and inviting look to the quite solid club chair. Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsman in our own in-house restoration atelier.
