Since we own the original, circa 1910-1920 French club chairs, it did not take long for us to figure out a way to faithfully reproduce the club chair, although we did bend and built it to American dimensions...

Our French inspired Leather Club Chair with matching Leather Ottoman was not made in France, but rather Hong Kong and was crafted with a traditional solid wood frame, hand-tied conical springs on jute webbing. The Leather for our Club Chair was upholstered incorporating coco fibers with real horse hair, together with feather and down cushion fillings. BFelix has been manufacturing high quality furniture for almost 25-years and strictly uses 100% natural materials combined with old school methods. Construction techniques used are traditionally European; the leather is mostly from tanneries in Europe and US. This newly reupholstered pair of club chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani, circa 1970s, features graceful chrome frames with nubby white bouclé fabric. Signed with 1960s/ 1970s Sormani label as shown in photo gallery. *Note, we have the matching sofa available in another listing. The graceful frames share a design quality with Cassina's LC2 / LC3 design by Le Corbusier, as they are 'buckets of cushions' in similar fashion and comfort. However these Sormani lounge chairs feature some unique subtle details, such as the slight "twist" in the rear legs (see photos). Signed with a Sormani label, this particular rare design is attributed to Claudio Salocchi. While there were several other famous designers who created works for Sormani in this time period, the style best matches Salocchi's work.
