About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely pair of handmade in England George Smith Signature Scroll arm club armchairs RRP £11,500 A very good looking and well made pair. George Smith make some of the finest seating in England today, they are the Howard & Son’s of our time and antiques of the future These chairs are the largest in the range, they come in three different seat base depths, this has the custom recessed cushion, what that means in the cushion actually “recesses” under the back rest, that way you are never sitting on the back edge of the cushion so it retains its shape. The cushion is what’s called a split panel foam core feather filled cushion! A mouth full for sure! Inside you have a double lined cushion bag which has been custom made in three sections, at the top you have feathers for comfort, in the middle a foam core for structure and the base feathers again, the cushions are upholstered on both sides so you can swap them over should the worst happen and you mark or stain one side The chairs were reupholstered a short while ago and are in excellent condition throughout, they have been professionally upholstery cleaned and are ready for the new owners Dimensions: Height 83cm Width 83cm Depth 117cm Seat height 49cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
