A Pair of "Submarine" French Leather Club Chairs
About the Item
This charming and compact pair of armchairs recalls French nautical designs of the 1920's and 30's. The chairs were originally conceived to provide a degree of comfort to officers in confined quarters on ships and submarines. They had to be sufficiently deep but without needlessly large arms or external dimensions. The leather in these exacting reproductions is tough but soft lamb leather. The chairs are very comfortable -even for 6-footers -and they are easy to blend into divers interior design environments. They are absolutely perfect for reading and conversing as they are not excessively large or slouchy.
