About the Item
Mid-Century, 1960's Cleopatra narrow daybed by A.R. Cordemeijer with custom yellow mattress, teak ends and black enameled metal frame. Manufactured by Royal Auping the Cleopatra divan bed was developed by Cordemeijer in 1953 to fit in with the newly updated, more streamlined bedroom style of the 1950s. Its sleek lines and minimalist approach made it fit right in with the burgeoning Modernist movement in Post-War Dutch Design. Mattress and bolster included. Frame is in original condition with visible wear consistent with its age and use. Others available in different color ways and sizes.
