About the Item
Art Deco Daybed in Stonewashed Linen, 1930s, Restored and Newly Upholstered.
This stunning 1930s Art Deco daybed shows wonderful proportions and is well sized. It features sturdy legs and elegant feet. The characteristic copper nails make a nice detail. Overall the design is basic and sincere, the straight lines and modest details are typical for the Art Deco era. An original detail shows in the blackened feet, that nicely contrast to the naturally aged solid oak frame. An elegant cylindrical headrest nicely finishes the piece, adding great comfort.
This piece has been completely reupholstered, which includes a fully renewed high quality interior and foam. The wonderful fabric used is a patinated 100% linen, specifications can be found here below. Its color is warm and earthly, timeless and of great quality.
The daybed has a pleasant size and a luxurious appearance, making it an elegant element in any modern or contemporary interior.
Upholstered in: Designs of the Time - Baldemar YP21013.
The beautiful patina is achieved by stonewashing the 100% linen fabric. The stonewashing process uses small white stones tumbled with the fabric to soften it, creating an irregular and unpredictable surface interest, enhancing the body of the fabric. Weighing 750 grams per square metre, this quality is inherently soft, yet strong.

Theo Ruth Mid Century Sofa for Artifort, The Netherlands, 1956.
This is a wonderful sofa designed by Theo Ruth for Wagemans & van Tuinen / Artifort, made in 1956.
The design of this sofa is classic mid-century and Scandinavian in style, but really comes to life due to the fantastic colorful upholstery. This vertically striped fabric shows many geometrical shapes, variations and colors and is quintessentially mid-century in appearance. At the same time, it is also very modern and this sofa will be a stunning addition in every interior. The design of this Theo Ruth sofa...
