An original circa 1951 S.C.A.L. daybed designed by Jean Prouvé. Edition Steph Simon, France, circa 1951 A Jean Prouvé “Scal” day bed with folded sheet steel structure and black lacquered steel tube feet, with headboard and footboard in ash veneer. Mattress and bolster newly upholstered in a beautiful, curly Brazilian cowhide with black leather piping and strap. There is nothing so chic as a Jean Prouvé daybed. We love the way one is used in this room from AD. It is both an art piece as well as a functional, comfortable piece of furniture. Prouve's background in metalwork can be seen in his daybed design.
