18th Century Set of Six Louis XVI Armchairs with a Gray and Gold Leaf Finish

About the Item

Six French Louis XVI pale gray painted and parcel-gilt dining armchairs from the late 18th century. These fauteuils are beautifully carved with oval backs and flutted legs. The painted and gilt fininsh is recently done, but the frames are of the Louis XVI period. They are upholstered in a light blue horse hair fabric but there are some small stains. This suite of armchairs are perfect for dining chairs or a living room.

Condition:

Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. The armchairs have been repainted and have a parcel gilt finish which has been done in the last decade. They are upholstered in a blue horse hair fabric that is usable but not in perfect condition. We bought them in the condition that they are in.
