4 x Bernhard Pedersen & Son No. 140 chairs

About the Item

Extremely rare early set of model 140 chairs by Bernhard Pedersen & Son, circa 1950s. The No. 140 chair was original designed in 1956 and discontinued some time in the 1960s. Bernhard Pederson & Son recently reissued the chair in only oak or walnut variants. This is the only example of an original teak set I have found in many years of furniture dealing. Solid teak frames are in excellent structural condition - rock solid joinery, no damage or signs of repairs. Original vinyl upholstery is, remarkably, also in excellent condition - no tears, staining or stretching. The original cane weaving on the seat backs has a beautiful patina, but is has clearly become brittle and broken in some areas. This does not affect the function or comfort in any way, but you may wish to re-cane for aesthetic purposes. Please contact me with further questions.
