The delicate set features a Rosewood structure with caning in the seat. The Brazilian Rosewood is nothing less than spectacular and displays vibrant wood veins that almost feel the chairs are alive! The pair is extremely light weight, as a result of the Jacaranda's aging process. Extensive logging has virtually eliminated Rosewood from the Brazilian forests, so that today it is not supposed to be logged. The only material that can be sold legally is old stock. The set of eight chairs have been refinished, and reupholstered in Brazil with a luxurious velvet fabric. The hardwood frame has a beautiful live grain and colour. The great craftsmanship is a common in Novo Rumo pieces, and these are in very good vintage condition. Original unique brass screws, common amongst Novo Rumo and Zalszupin pieces. Produced in the 1960s, these pieces are often described as 'by Jorge Zalszupin for Novo Rumo’.
