Cesare Occhi Custom Desk Occasional Chair New Hope School Nakashima

About the Item

A custom desk chair purchased from the home of Cesare Occhi, famed italian wood worker who worked for George Nakashima Studios before breaking off and starting his own wood working company. This chair was purchased from his estate, his daughter said Cesare made it for his wife as an anniversary gift, and was accompanied by an exceptional desk. The chair has an original $105 price tag engraved in pencil, and a Carl N. Rist and Sons custom furniture paper label. Dated 1972. Little is known about Carl N. The chair has a nod to George Nakashima’s Widdicomb line with the wide paddle arms. Solid walnut frame and vinyl backrest and seat.
