About the Item
An exceptionally rare set of eight (8) rattan and cane dining chairs by the great Henry Olko for his Willow & Reed, circa 1955. Mr. Olko has confirmed that this particular chair was one his first designs produced when he initially began with W & R in the mid-1950s. The set consists of two (2) host chairs and six (6) side chairs. Stylish, beautifully conceived Throne style high-back design executed in a black lacquer finish with cane accents in aged golf-leaf. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship with exacting detail. Stout, sturdy and suitable for heavy regular use. The unmistakable look of old money. Excellent restored condition. The chairs have been professionally cleaned and re-lacquered. All cane bindings are intact and complete. Host chair arm height is 26.5 inches. Expert custom upholstery in a neutral Larsen fabric. Retains the Maker mark. The price listed is for the set of twelve (12) chairs.
