Exquisite Set of Eight Walnut George I Dining Chairs C. 1710-1730
About the Item
Superb set of eight side chairs dating to the very early 18th Century. Finely crafted side chairs with burled frames and cross-banded shaped splats. With wide shaped seat rails raised on cabriole legs, with pad feet. The front legs with carved foliate motifs on the knees. In a fine polish and with custom upholstered seats in a red damask type fabric. The Set was professionally refinished in more recent times acquiring the deep honey tone finish seen today.
H. 39 3/4", W. 21", Depth 20.5” seat H. 19"
Condition: The overall condition is quite good with some expected chips and slight veneer loss, old gouges and scratches, one back leg with long band of gouges, repair to one upper side support (Please see photos) all mentioned for accuracy as the set presents magnificently.
