Five Continental Embossed Leather Carved Walnut Rococo Revival Dining Chairs

A SET OF FIVE CONTINENTAL
EMBOSSED LEATHER
CARVED WALNUT ROCOCO
REVIVAL DINING CHAIRS
POSSIBLY FRENCH, LATE 19TH CENTURY
38½" in. (98cm.) high.
18" in. (46cm.) wide.
17 3/4" in. (45cm.) deep.
18 3/4" in. (47.50cm.) high seat height.
Each in finely carved walnut
beech as a secondary wood
upholstered in tooled embossed leather
with butterflies. Putto and rocaille ornament
with ornamental brass rosettes.
Walnut acquired a nice mellow patina from years of usage, leather shows surface shallow cracking but it is not brittle and is perfectly stable and strong.
