"Marsha P. Johnson", XI, one of a series of 12 unique dining or side chairs created by a collaboration of Ashley Longshore and Ken Fulk, combines Ashley's portraits of iconic women in history with Ken's eye for design. Vintage Louis dining or side chair with Ashley's portrait of Marsha P. Johnson printed on linen on the rear face, custom designed Ken Fulk upholstery on the seat and back, and espresso finished wood frame. Embroidered and appliqued XI appears on the seat back, signed on the leg.
Marsha P. Johnson was an American gay liberation activist and self-identified drag queen. Known as an outspoken advocate for gay rights, Johnson was one of the prominent figures in the Stonewall uprising of 1969.
