Mid century modern vintage beech orange ten ( 10 ) dining chairs or chairs designed by Anna Lülja Praun, Vienna 1953 and executed by Wiesner - Hager. These ten dining chairs stand out through its minimalistic design features, which assimilated excellent with contemporary interiors. The renewed faux leather upholstery shows a grounded earth tone like burnt orange or sunrise orange. The dining chairs are carefully cleaned and the beechwood frame is shellac hand-polished, while the seats and backs are newly upholstered and covered with orange faux leather and decorating nails. The overall condition is very good both for the upholstery and the wood. approx. measures: Width 45 cm Depth 47 cm Height 80 cm Seat height 44 cm Anna-Lülja Praun ( 1906-2004 ) was a popular female Austrian architect and designer. She was one of the first female pioneers, who studied architecture in Austria. She restored the interior of the Palace Belvedere after the 2n world war in 1947 and operated in her own atelier since 1952. Anna-Lülja Praun was a very creative head and designed many interiors, furnitures, shops and buildings. Furthermore she worked together with the female maser of pottery, Gudrun Baudisch, for ceramic designs.

    A set of four dining room or side chairs designed by Anna-Luelja Praun (1906-2004), Vienna, Austria, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1950. The seats and backs are covered with cane or wicker. The cane of two chairs has been restored. On one chair five of the cane straps have been replaced with new ones and on the other one seven. The new cane is currently brighter than the original old one but it will age gradually and become darker. The wooden parts have been restored. The chairs are in good condition and ready to use. Lit: Eva B. Ottilinger, Möbeldesign der 50er Jahre, p. 136 About Anna-Lülja Praun: Anna-Lülja Praun was born in Sankt Petersburg, Russia, in 6/29/1906 and lived in Vienna until 9/28/2004. She was an important Austrian designer and architect and she was one of the first females who studied architecture in Austria. In 1947 she worked on the restoration of the palace Belvedere which was heavily damaged in the second world war. In 1952 she opened her own studio in Vienna. She designed houses, interiors, furniture, shops, light fixtures and pottery (together with Gudrun Baudisch). From 1953-1959 she also worked for the furniture shop "Haus und Garten" which was established by Josef Frank in 1925. In 1959 she designed a bench "Bank zum Ausruhen" for the conductor Herbert von Karajan.
