About the Item

Dining Table available and sold separately. A commanding set of six Danish teak dining chairs by Vamdrup Stolefabrik, restored to exceptional condition and reupholstered in a woven tweed that blends lavender, violet, plum, and black-current tones. Each chair is approximately 20 inches (51 cm) wide, 23.5 inches (60 cm) deep, and 33.75 inches (86 cm) high, with a seat height of about 18 inches (46 cm)—proportions that balance sculptural presence with dining comfort. The frames are solid teak, slender and disciplined in form, with elegant, tapered lines. Wood grain has developed a rich patina with age, including areas of deeply figured grain that approach rosewood-like beauty. Tufted backs with four buttons on each add a layer of tailored sophistication, subtly softening the rigid geometry and elevating their visual impact. Reupholstered uniformly, each chair has new foam padding beneath the tweed fabric, making them comfortable for extended dining while preserving vintage character. Frames have been refined: joints tightened, surfaces detailed, minor imperfections in the wood remain—small knots or grain marks—offering authenticity and character rather than detracting. These chairs offer versatility: ideal for a long Danish dining table, clustered in bistro-style settings, or used individually as accent seating. The colorway of the upholstery is dark enough to mask everyday wear yet expressive enough to bring personality and warmth into the space. They pair exquisitely with warm woods, brass accents, soft lighting, and both minimalist and richly textured interiors. For collectors of Scandinavian mid-century furniture, fans of Vamdrup Stolefabrik, or anyone who values integrity in restoration combined with design presence, this set is rare. Six matching chairs in this restored, ready-to-use condition are seldom found together. They bring without question craftsmanship, style, and enduring elegance. The restoration team chose this tasty plum fabric and the results were even more delicious than we expected. Or if you prefer wine analogies, it resembles a Petite Sirah. The soft, woven tweed is a blend of lavender, violet, plum and black current. Dark enough for high traffic use, but colorful enough to be fun and expressive. The contrast of the fabric against the rich, reddish-amber teak frames is almost mesmerizing. This set just hit the floor and the rubbernecking is obvious. The sculpted, slender and almost sinister solid teak frames have aged beautifully with rich patina. The wood has patches of heavy grain that looks almost like rosewood. As if this all wasn't sexy enough, the four button tufts on each back add a layer of tailored sophistication to an otherwise disciplined form. Sold as a set of (6). All chairs have been reupholstered with new foam and fabric. Frames have been tightened and fully detailed top to bottom. Only minor imperfections remain on the frames (see pics). We're not sure who designed these chairs for Vamdrup Stolefabrik, but we tip our hat. Dimensions: 20” Wide x 23.5” Deep x 33.75” High (18” seat height)

Thomasville Embassy Asian Chinoiserie Dining Chairs
By Raymond K. Sobota, Thomasville, Century Furniture
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Set of six dining chairs by Thomasville, from the Embassy line, restored with integrity and style. Includes two arm-chairs and four side chairs. Armless chairs measure about 19 inches wide × 20 inches deep × 41.25 inches high, seat height roughly 19.25 inches. Arm-chairs are approximately 21.25 inches wide, same depth and back height, with arms rising to about 24.25 inches. Design is distinctly Chinoiserie, with an Asian-inspired silhouette: the crown is pagoda-notched, the blade-like backs curve inward following the spine’s shape for ergonomic support. Frames are solid wood, original finish clean with only minor blemishes; seat cushions have been re-upholstered in a neutral blended fabric combining tones of gray, brown, black and white—modern yet complementary to the frame tones. Restoration has reinforced structural joints; the wood surfaces have been cleaned, polished, and detailed so the grain and contour shine. The overall presence is both elegant and bold—chairs that bring visual rhythm to a dining set, a media console, or curated furniture group. Suited for interiors that prize material authenticity, decorative nuance, and vintage pedigree. These chairs perform well around classic dining tables, or paired with wood, lacquer, or mirrored surfaces. Ideal for collectors and designers who value style lineage, tactile form, and pieces that carry both beauty and useability. Lovingly restored, set of six Nineteen-Laties Thomasville Embassy...
