Introducing an ultra-rare set of four vintage Model 49 dining chairs (two armchairs and two side chairs) in solid Brazilian rosewood designed by the influential Erik Buch Oddense Maskinsnedkeri. Recently restored and featuring new vinyl upholstery this iconic set is built from solid Brazilian rosewood frames replete with exceptional, variegated woodgrains unique to the species and bent to graceful yet minimal lines this stunning set of Model 49's is ideal for designers and collectors alike. Erik Buck (1923-1982) had over 30 commercially successful production designs over his career but none so famous as his Model 61 Bar stool designed in 1961 and formerly manufactured by Oddense Maskinsnedkeri A/S. His Model 49 dining chairs designed in 1949 saw equally impressive popularity and could be found in homes around the world and is still in production today by Danish cabinet makers. This architecturally captivating set is a true collector's item, perfect for those who appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of Danish Modern furniture and the ingenious creations by Erik Buch. With it's unique rosewood construction, incredibly comfortable seat and backrests and elegant design these chairs are sure to make a BOLD statement in any office or living space. The solid teak frames and legs show only minimal signs of wear such as light nicks and minor surface scratches (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided) but showing no stains, cracks, or other damage whatsoever. The variegated woodgrains too are absolutely stunning in natural light. The original polyester blend fabric does show signs of wear such as one small burn, several small stains as well as general areas of discoloration (all of which can be seen clearly in the detail photos and natural light video provided) making this set the perfect candidate for re-upholstery in a fabric of your choosing.
