About the Item

This elegant set of six dining chairs by Findahl Møbler exemplifies the understated sophistication of Danish Modern design from the 1970s. Crafted from solid teak, the frames showcase the wood’s warm, rich grain and smooth finish, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship synonymous with Danish furniture. The minimalist design features clean lines and slightly angled legs, creating a lightweight yet sturdy silhouette that emphasizes both form and function. Upholstered in a rich brown fabric adorned with subtle golden circle detailing, the seats and backrests offer a tactile contrast to the teak, adding a touch of warmth and visual interest. The gently curved backrests provide ergonomic support, making these chairs as comfortable as they are stylish. Perfect for a modern dining space or a collector’s curated interior, this set embodies the timeless appeal of Scandinavian design with a refined, late 20th-century aesthetic. Findahl Møbler, a family-owned Danish furniture manufacturer, was founded in 1946 by Chresten Findahl in Skærbæk, Denmark. Later passed down to his son, the company has remained committed to producing high-quality furniture that reflects Danish design principles, emphasizing sustainability, craftsmanship, and timeless aesthetics. Known for their dedication to traditional woodworking techniques, Findahl Møbler gained recognition for creating durable, minimalist pieces that blend functionality with elegant simplicity. The company was acquired by Hammel Furniture in the early 2000s, but its legacy continues through its focus on Danish-designed and Danish-produced furniture. Ideal for collectors and designers alike searching for a minimalist set that won't break the bank this archetypally Danish set of dining chairs can blend seamlessly against a myriad of design backdrops from Mid-Century Modern to Minimalism to Contemporary and everything in between. Buy them as is or have them upholstered in a fabric of your choosing by our restoration team - either way, make them yours today! ---Dimensions--- Width: 17.5 in / 44.45 cm Depth: 20 in / 50.8 cm Height: 30.5 in / 77.47 cm Seat Height: 18.5 in / 46.99 cm Save for the upholstery, redone by the previous owners, this gorgeous set of Danish-made dining chairs is in original condition. The solid Burmese teak legs and frames are in excellent shape showing only minor surface scratches and light nicks (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos and natural light video provided) but showing no gouges, stains or other wear whatsoever and the variegated woodgrains are absolutely mesmerizing in natural light. The upholstery does show some minor discoloration and pin-sized stains which can be seen in the detail photos and natural light video provided making this set the perfect candidate for reupholstery in a fabric of your choosing.
