About the Item
These English painted pine dining chairs –exhibiting subtle Gustavian references– feature straight, slatted backs held with squared handrails and stiles. Well-patinated from a century of wear, the layers of gold and sienna pigment are mostly still visible on the seat backs but the flat seats have worn to expose the bare wood grain underneath. Restrained in ornamentation except for fluted carvings in the slats and foot where the stile intersects the seat.
