Set of Six English Regency Style Mahogany Klismos Dining Chairs
About the Item
Distinctive set of six late 19th century Klismos dining chairs crafted in the English Regency taste. The set consists of four side chairs and two scrolled armchairs measuring 23.5 inches wide by 22 inches deep. The arms measure nearly 26 inches high at the scroll. The chairs feature a mahogany frame with a klismos tablet back and tulip motif splat. The seats are upholstered with a dramatic indigo blue velvet fabric and supported by saber legs. Sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The mahogany has a lovely aged patina on the finish to commensurate age and use. Sold as a set of six. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
