Set of Twelve Chippendale Style Dining Chairs, 19th Century English

About the Item

This impressive set of twelve Chippendale-style dining chairs includes two armchairs and ten side chairs each meticulously crafted and hand-carved from mahogany. Intricate seat backs feature impressive scrollwork and foliate motifs on the crest rail, ears, pierced splats and stiles. Front cabriole legs are adorned with acanthus leaf carvings leading down to classical ball and claw feet, a hallmark of the Chippendale style. Gracefully curved armrests ending in carved scrolls on the armchairs echo these details. Charming floral upholstery featuring blooming flowers in shades of pink, red and green against a delicate yellow background adds a touch of softness to this set. Rarely do you find a set that so well exemplifies the sophistication and elegance of the Chippendale style.
