The Shakers made many refinements during the 19th century to their chairs in both design and proportion because of their belief that the most simple things are the most beautiful. One of the advantages of purchasing our Shaker-style dining chairs is that the design and materials have been tested by time and found to be successful.
Local North Eastern Artisans make the Slat Back Shaker Side Chair in superior grades of clear cherry and hard maple. Height of back is 40 3/4". Height of seat 17 1/2". Width 20 3/4". Depth 17 1/8".
Shown in clear cherry with a hand-rubbed Oil and Wax Finish and woven in 1" Black and 1" Raffia Shaker chair tape in a checkerboard pattern.
