1950s French Footstool in Scalamandré 'Polar Bear - Blue Frost' Mohair
About the Item
Listed is an absolutely stunning, 1950s French Provincial footstool. The piece has been newly reupholstered in Scalamandrés 'Polar Bear' mohair velvet in the 'Blue Frost' colorway from the 'Tundra Collection', imported from Italy. Tonal and textural welt. The mohair has a gorgeous, textural watermark effect, see last photo for reference. Heavy, weighing 7.5lbs.

"A remarkable feat of luxury! Truly inspired by the polar bear, this mohair velvet is woven with the highest pile possible for a deeply sensual touch. It is then allowed to swim in a POOL of color, which imparts randomly spaced, abstract watermarks. Perfect for asymmetrical upholstery and living in the moment, as no two yards are alike."
