French 19th Century Louis XV Style Three-Piece Giltwood and Aubusson Salon Suite
About the Item
A very fine French 19th century Louis XV style three-piece giltwood carved and silk Aubusson tapestry three-piece salon suite, comprising of a settee and two fauteuils (armchairs), the Aubusson silk tapestry with a design of flowers, trees, parrots and pheasants with villages and cottages in the background. The tapestry in excellent original condition, the finely carved frame with its original 24 carat gilt, Paris, circa 1880-1890.
Measures: Settee height: 44 1/2 inches (113 cm).
Settee width: 63 1/4 inches (160.7 cm).
Settee depth: 31 inches (78.7 cm).
Armchair height: 42 1/2 inches (108 cm).
Armchair width: 29 inches (73.7 cm).
Armchair depth: 27 inches (68.6 cm).

- Condition:Repaired: Minor gilt touch ups. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. A truly beautiful set which has been barely used. Overall condition is very good There is a very small unsewn splits and some restoration on the Aubusson on one armchair and slight wear on a spot on the back of the settee (see images). Original gilt.
