Rare Luxurious 9 Piece Italian Art Nouveau Salon Suite
About the Item
Excellent early 20th century Art Nouveau 9 piece salon suite set, hand carved and painted in a lovely neutral color with original silk upholstery in very good condition of the highest quality. The sofa is no longer available. The name "Art Nouveau" in French means "new art". It is also known as Jugendstil in Germany. In contrast, in Vienna and in Italy, "Liberty style". The Art Nouveau designs used curvilinear sinuous asymmetrical lines, often based on plant forms. and feminine silhouettes. Two upholstery repairs on the sofa (see photos). Set was purchased in Europe. Items can be sold separately. #6057
