Set of Carved Bench and Two Armchairs from Norway, circa 1880-1900

About the Item

The distinctive Norwegian carving along this high back bench and pair of armchairs is made more dramatic with the colorful painted details and dragon heads at the end of each arm. Please enlarge photos to appreciate the hand-painted finish, with orange, red, blue, yellow, and green seen throughout. While the paint is old, it was likely added at a later date from when this set was first crafted. Restored, strong and stable, this set of (3) bench and two chairs is ready to be placed, used and enjoyed. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this set which is a special find from Norway.
