The curved and tapered legs of the Klismos chair are what make its design so unique. In this modern interpretation of the ancient Greek klismos chair, our pair of generously sized loungers embodies the timeless form with gracefully splayed legs. Its dramatic upper rail features soft concave back that follows the natural contours of your body that not only provides support for the back and shoulders but allowing you to lounge back into the seat and enjoy. Excellent restored condition and completely installation ready. These chairs are inspired by antiquity but modern in design, perfect for traditional or contemporary settings.
Simply put, the Klismos chair has been a design masterpiece since its ancient Greek origins. From a historical standpoint, the Klismos chair paved the way in design. The Greek Klismos chair inspired & influenced the French Directoire, English Regency & American Federal Style during the 1800’s, and the design is still used today for formal yet comfortable seating.
