Bentwood Pulkka Lounge Chair by Ilmari Laippainen for Asko, Finland from the 1960s. Ilmari Laippainen (1922-2004) was a renowned Finnish architect and designer known for his functionalist approach and emphasis on simplicity. His Pulkka or Sled lounge chair is a lightweight and comfortable lounge chair, here presented in a dark blue vinyl or leatherette upholstery. The blue upholstery plays very well with the original dark stained wooden frame. Materials: beech plywood, vinyl Origination: Finland, 1960s Condition: Very good vintage condition, signs of use as per images. Approximate Dimensions: Height: 90 cm Depth: 100 cm Width: 77 cm Seating height 36 cm.
