Extremely comfortable reclining leather lounge chair on Brazilian Rosewood base designed by Fredrik A. Kayser for Vatne Mobler in Norway. Designed in the 1960s, this chair is a comfortable, luxurious seat ideal for a living room or as an office chair. The leather shows age typical wear (as you might expect from being approximately 60 years old) but has great suppleness and an enviable patina that only comes with time. The chair's base is solid and has nice grain. At some point in the past, the bar that controlled recline was removed. Today, the chair defaults to a reclined position but tilts forward when needed to make it easy and comfortable to rise from the chair. A beautiful example of mid-century modern design from Norway, manufactured by a respected furniture company from the time.
