Lounge Chair Green Leather and Rosewood Attributed to Fredrik Kayser, Norway

About the Item
This very elegant ounge chair is unmarked but in terms of design bears many of the hallmarks of one of Norway's most iconic designers, Fredrik A. Kayser. This chair resembles Kayser's model 965H made by Vatne but with a more scooped out backrest. The chair is covered in high quality supple green leather and is raised on a base of rosewood which helps date the piece to circa 1970. The wood shows great grain and color. The style of the sofa pays some homage to the Godfather of all Scandinavian Modern design, Kaare Klint aas well as Borge Mogensen's perennial designs. The chair shows very minor wear such as a few small scuffs and patina to the leather but the leather remains soft with no crazing and the overall condition is very good.
