Oversized Guido Faleschini Swivel Lounge Chair by Mariani for Pace

About the Item

This oversized piece of design history is yours for the taking. If only it was possible to order a hundred of these marvels brand new in a rainbow of colors and fabrics. The world would be a better place. There's something really special about this chair and it's precisely why we Revere the Italian designers of the 1970s. In our decade of being in business, this is the first one we've had the pleasure to work on. Guido Faleschini designed this incredibly comfortable lounge chair for Pace Collection. Produced in Italy by Mairani for Pace in the late 1970s. The chair is bolted to a polished chrome base and swivels completely 360. The swivel mechanism is heavy duty steal and is balanced perfectly to allow the chair to rotate almost on its own. Our restoration team stripped this down completely and built it back with a rich, dark blue navy velvet that seems to compliment the chrome base perfectly. We matched the original stitch pattern and button tufting. The chrome base has been hand polished and only has minor, age appropriate imperfections.

Tulip Group Lounge Chairs in Rosewood by K M Wilkins for G-Plan of England
By G Plan Furniture, Charles and Ray Eames, Thonet, Percival Lafer
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Matching sofa also available and sold separately (see last pic). This incredible set was purchased new in Glasgow, Scotland in 1970. We acquired from the original owners who kept them in pristine condition. Designed by K.M. Wilkins for G-Plan of England, this line is appropriately named the "Tulip Group". Wilkins also designed the the well known Housemaster Chair, often misattributed to Ib Kofod Larsen. The "Tulip" design is demonstrated by the rosewood panels which are molded into curves that mimic a blossoming flower. Offered almost exclusively in teak, this rosewood set is truly a rare find. The rich, amber-red panels are perfectly complimented by the chrome hardware and velvet fabric. The luxuriously soft velvet is in amazing condition. The color is difficult to describe, but in our opinion, it's a cross between olive-green and taupe-brown. Of course the refraction of light on velvet can magnify or minimize the tones and highlights depending on the angle and environment. Both chairs hover on their original Magnum Orbit chrome...

Restored, vintage flat bar chrome lounge chairs set designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. These lounge chairs have recently been updated with period appropriate grey tweed wool fabric. The chairs have a sleek pitched back gangster lean that cradles you into a comfy nook. Upholstered arm rests add even more comfort without giving the chair a bulky overstuffed look. Two metal clips on each chair hold in the otherwise loose seat cushions. 951 Design Classic Chair: Originally designed in 1966, the 951 lounge chair...
