Japanese Midcentury Rare Pair of Maruni Folding Lounge Chairs

About the Item

Similar to the iconic rope chairs produced by Maruni in the 1950s these chairs were produced in the 1960s but are much more rare and difficult to come by. Utilizing natural wooden spindles that add a beautiful touch of contrast with the dark black frame, these chairs offer the same organic silhouette as the rope chairs with much more structural stability for everyday use. If you have ever sat in the rope chairs you'll know immediately that they feel a bit unstable and feel as though they cannot support weight for a long period of time. These chairs have solved that issue while maintaining the beauty of the natural materials, they are equally as comfortable as they are beautiful and functional. Completely foldable, they can be stowed away if desired. Both chairs have the original Maruni labels attached.
