About the Item

Vintage armchair named JOE CHAIR or model P100 in 1970, created by the trio of Italian designers Gionatan de Pas, Donato d'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi for the manufacturer Poltronova. An iconic model of 20th-century design. A large, comfortable armchair shaped like a giant baseball glove, with a lightweight metal frame moulded with polyurethane foam and mounted on invisible wheels. It uses traditional assembly techniques with cord threaded through eyelets. First edition from 1970, it has been completely restored and reupholstered by our partner upholsterer. It took 9.5 metres of bouclé fabric with its incomparable feel in Terracotta colour from the French brand Casamance, ultra-thick 500g/m² wadding and sixty gunmetal eyelets made in France. It is truly an exceptional piece of work in terms of time and technique. It is now truly unique in the world with this new look. The leather P100 JOE patch has been reattached to this new fabric in exactly the same place as the original, and the cuts and seams of the original cover have been scrupulously respected. The structure was of course checked before this total restoration. It was in excellent condition. This armchair now has the same superb comfort as the original. Joe chair is a delightful mix of design and art. Gionatan de Pas, Donato d'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi made a name for themselves in the 1960s with their plastic furniture, notably the hugely successful Blow inflatable armchair for Zanotta. They set up their own design studio: Studio DDL. Dimensions: L 175cm x D 110cm x H 95cm
