Lounge Chair De Sede Model DS-51 Cognac Color Leather Switzerland

About the Item

Beautiful Cognac color leather relax armchair made by De Sede Switzerland. The chair has a metal bottom with a nice foot. This chair is completely handmade and the edge is completely closed by hand, this is really a top armchair. The patina is also beautiful due to use. There are a few small dots loose in the seat, but that makes no difference to the seating comfort. De Sede A piece van de Sede gives a strong personality to the space it occupies. One of the world's most respected furniture design houses, de Sede's Swiss craftsmanship has its foundation in a long history of crafting expertly designed saddles. Founded in 1965 to build on a successful family-run saddlery in Klingnau, Switzerland, de Sede is now a leading manufacturer of leather goods and furniture, including sofas, chairs and beds. At the heart of de Sede's philosophy is a reverence for the complexity and beauty of handcrafted furniture at a time when mass production is the norm. Over the years, the studio has built a name for itself in its modular furniture pieces, which are made with the highest quality leather upholstery. The sleek, elegant pieces combine functionality with beauty. One of their best selling designs is the DS-600 which was introduced in 1972. Also known as the Non Stop sofa, it is a sensually curved, winding modular sofa whose individual parts can be zipped together to create multiple variations and arcs. De Sede has collaborated with some of the world's top designers to enhance the prestige and individuality of their products. Designers such as Santiago Calatrava, Antonella Scarpitta, Stephan Hürlemann, Gordon Guillaumier and Philippe Malouin have all created pieces with the atelier. Ubald Klug's 1974 DS-1025, also known as the Terrazza sofa, is an enduring favorite with its tiered learning levels. In 2017, de Sede expanded its product line to include high-quality leather handbags, which are just as thoughtfully and beautifully designed as the furniture. De Sede AG is now part of the Volare Group AG and continues to make its fine furniture and other goods by hand from its factory in Klingnau.
